The Elkton Police Department has received information on a potential scam.

A person posing as a Police Department representative was attempting to seek

donations for the police department via telephone. Please note-the police department

will never seek donations via phone. If you receive a call of this nature, please

contact your local police agency.



(1)The Town of Elkton is securing bids for removal of regular residential household trash for

approximately 1,137 customers once per week .  (2) Recycle pick up for approximately 1,137

households  two times per month. (3) A Bulk Roll-off for trash located at Waste Water

Treatment Plant  as needed.  (4) A Bulk Roll-off for waste located at Waste Water Treatment

Plant could be up to twice per week.  (5) Dumpsters located at Community Center & Town

Shop one time per week.

Open Mon.-Fri.- 8 am through 4 pm.




The town will be accepting bids for paving an area approximately 65’ X 100’ surface to

convert the old tennis courts into basketball courts.  Base shall consist of 6 “of stone with a

2” 9.5 asphalt.

Cool Off & Have Some Fun with the 2nd Annual Fireball Dash & Splash!!!

Fireball Dash and Splash involves a one mile dash (on 420 Wirt Ave, at Elkton Car Wash) and a one mile tube float down the Shenandoah River(from Riverside Park) to the Town of Elkton Boat Landing (on Old Spotswood Trail). Participant parking is located at race finish by Elkton Boat Landing on Old Spotswood Trail, then shuttled to race start location. Musical entertainment and food trucks delivering a variety of tasty choices for purchase. Event benefits Epilepsy Foundation of VA. Race location:Riverside Park and Boat Launch in Elkton, VA. All are welcome to come and enjoy the music and food. Race starts at 2PM. Bring chairs, blankets and canopies for post race activities. Race registration begins Monday, May 1, 2017. Minimum age limit of 7. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. ALL participants will be provided life jackets and are required to wear while in water.
