Town Hall and Elkton Area Community Center Closing
Effective Thursday, January 21
Rockingham County and Elkton are currently
experiencing the highest rates of COVID-19
since the pandemic began nearly one year ago.
Transmission rates are expected rise over the next
month. Our top priority must always remain the
health and safety of our resident, staff and visitors.
These facilities will remain closed to the public through February 19 2021.
Utility payments may be placed in the drop box located

The Town of Elkton Treasurer’s Office has been notified of a potential scam, demanding immediate payment for a delinquent utility bill.
Staff will not call to demand payment over the phone. Please do not give your credit card or debit card information to anyone over the phone!
Thankfully these customers knew our billing cycle and knew they didn’t have a delinquent bill, and didn’t fall for the scam.
Please be vigilant, and if you ever have questions about a call you received, please notify us or the Elkton Police Department

Wastewater Collection System Improvements
The Town of Elkton has contracted with Commonwealth Excavating/Insituform Technologies, LLC for improvements to its wastewater collection system. The work includes the cleaning and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer pipes with a cured-in-place lining, and the replacement of existing sanitary sewer with new sanitary sewer.
The duration of the contract for this work is 300 days from the effective date of May 19, 2020 and, unless there are extraordinary circumstances, the work will be conducted on weekdays between the hours of 7 A.M. and 7 P.M.
Most of the work under this contract will be done in public rights of way or in public easements through private property. In order to keep the public and property owners aware of this work, the Town will be posting the contractor's weekly schedule of planned work on the Town website. In addition, the contractor is required to provide seventy-town (72) hours advanced notice to businesses and residences that might be impacted by the work. Possible impacts include restrictions on wastewater production while the work is underway.
The Town's goal is to keep residents and businesses aware of and prepared for this work and to minimize disruptions.
The schedule for the week of September 8, 2020 has manhole replacement work to be conducted in the following locations: Wirt St replacing MH's 98, 97, 99, 100
